Q&A: DJ JOE BERMUDEZ Talks Mass Movement, Jonas Brothers and What It Takes to Get Him Naked

Boston-based DJ Joe Bermudez has emerged as one of the hottest talents on the global club scene, a sonic triple threat that brings the goods: the sound, the look, and the (lack of) attitude.

Whether he’s spinning live at clubs, remixing for the biggest names in music (Britney, Justin, Janet, Katy Perry, Hillary Duff, Taylor Swift and many more), or just sitting back and looking damn hot, Bermudez has amassed a worldwide following for his seamless sets, pitch-perfect productions, and willingness to play to the crowd.

Joe can be heard spinnin' on XM Satellite Radio (www.joebermudez.com/mixshows.html), but he's also just started up his own new venture: Mass Movement Radio (www.massmovementradio.com), showcasing the hottest music spun by Joey himself, plus hot interviews with artists, DJs and more, including the Jonas Brothers, Hilary Duff, Crystal Method, Metro Station and many more. With artists Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and many more slated to stop by the radio show, Joe's MassMovement radio shows get bigger every week.

Now, Joe takes the time to answer some Muzo-style questions. Everything from his latest work with the Duff to what it takes to get him to wag his ween. And apparently, if I wanna get with one of the Jonas Brothers, I need to 'drop the soap' in front of Kevin Jonas. (Hot!) Enter the Bermudez triangle:

Muzo: What inspired you to start up your newest venture Mass Movement?

Joe: There is a lot of really good music out there that I want to expose people to. I started out in radio and had been missing being an on-air personality, so I thought this would be a fun way to take care of both.

Muzo: You have been spinning for years - in fact, you have been one of my favorites DJs for years (you already knew that) - I remember when I joined MySpace, you were the first DJ I looked up to stalk, I mean, see what you were up to. How did you first get into remixing?

Joe: The short story is I started doing it to help get over an ex-girlfriend. As it turns out, I rather enjoyed playing with ProTools and stuck with it even after I had moved on.

Muzo: Out of all the artists you have worked with, is there one session in particular that stands out?

Joe: They all seem to have funny little back stories to them. Recently, the mix I am most proud of is my version of 'Holiday' that is on Hillary Duff's new 'Best of' CD. I really like the way it came together.

Muzo: And now you have been interviewing quite a few celebs for Mass Movement - I checked out your interviews on your YouTube channel - Paul VanDyke, Hillary Duff, the Jonas Brothers and many more. Any good behind-the-scenes gossip?

Joe: Everyone has been really great so far. It's cool to see artists on that level taking an interest in what I'm doing. In the next few weeks, we have Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Kevin Rudolf all stopping by the show.

Muzo: Which artists/DJs continue to inspire you?

Joe: Mark Knight, Kaskade, Martijn Ten Velden, Fedde Le Grande, Dave Spoon. The list goes on and on and on.

Muzo: You're a perceptive guy - any chance the JoBros may be HoMos? And if not, tell me lies!

Joe: Nick and Joe both have hot celebrity girlfriends, so I guess your best bet is to drop the soap in front of Kevin. Good luck!

Muzo: What's a girl gotta do to get you naked?

Joe: Just ask.

Muzo: What's a guy gotta do to get you naked? (You knew it was coming!)

Joe: They usually do when I'm naked...haha.

Muzo: Complete the sentence: 'On a date, the girl should...'

Joe: ...be herself.

Muzo: Type of girl you usually go for?

Joe: I like girls with wit. I like when they keep me on my toes and make smart ass comments. And while we are on the subject of asses, it doesn't hurt if they have a nice one of those either.

Muzo: Boxers or briefs?

Joe: Boxers.

Muzo: Complete the sentence: 'I'm like totally masc and butch and straight, but I still wanna bang Muzo.' Oh, wait, never mind, I just finished it for you. See, I knew you'd see it my way! Moving on...

Muzo: Top 5 favorite tracks right now?

Joe: Chris Lake feat Nastala – 'If You Knew' Deadmau5 – 'Ghosts N Stuff' Pryda – 'Rafunk' Pussycat Dolls – 'I Hate This Part (Digital Dog Remix)' 16B – 'The Hours (Calvin Harris Remix)'

Muzo: Favorite personal vice?

Joe: Smoothies.

Muzo: Least favorite personal vice?

Joe: I don't have one. If I don't like something, I simply don't do it.

Muzo: What's next for Joe?

Joe: I'm off to ring in the new year with Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz at Pure in Las Vegas.
